City of Jasper Mayor Kirk Raffield Visits Pickens County Library for Mayor Storytime

City of Jasper Mayor Kirk Raffield visited the Pickens County Library on August 7 as part of the Mayor’s Reading Club initiative. Mayor Raffield along with his team read a storybook aloud and participated in a craft with community members in attendance.

The event took place in the Pickens County Library Community Room, where community members could meet with Mayor Raffield and listen to his team read one of the "Waffles the Cat" storybooks.

Launched in 2022, the goal of the Mayor’s Reading Club is to improve literacy skills and success with early reading in children and youth in Georgia cities. The program is a part of Georgia City Solutions, a Georgia Municipal Association nonprofit.
