On Wednesday, July 1, Pickens County Library Branch Manager Katie Dobson participated in the City of Jasper America250 Time Capsule Burial at Perrow Park in Downtown Jasper.

The time capsule was filled with items from local organizations, including Sequoyah Regional Library System. SRLS contributed one of our limited edition America250 library cards and a rack card detailing the America250 celebrations at the library.

Other participating organizations include the Sequoyah Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution, the Jasper Lions Club, Keep Pickens Beautiful, the Pickens Progress, the Rotary Club of Jasper, Pickens County Schools, and many more.

The time capsule will be re-opened in 2076 for the USA's Tricentennial anniversary.
